Shawn commented to me the other day that I had pictures on our blog of everyone but he and Caleb. I guess that's true, but not intentional. So, to make up for my insensitive blunder, I wanted to have an entry of the men in my life. I love being a mom to two little boys. Joshua is a momma's boy to the core and I love it. Caleb has the sweetest heart and loves to do special things for me like rub my back:)Of course, they learn from their daddy and he is one in a million. I know he'll read this so I'll take a moment to brag. I love that he wakes me up in the morning to spend time with the Lord(he knows I'm no morning person). I love that he can act crazy and not care what anyone else thinks, and I love knowing that he is really interested in hearing about my day, even if the highlight is that no one peed in their pants. I am a blessed woman. Oh, and I should add that I especially love it when he cleans the entire house, cooks dinner and does laundry just because he loves me. ..yeah I thought that might be pushing it a little...love ya hun!

My favorite men

Whose idea was this?

Ok, so for Haleigh's 5th birthday party, Shawn and I wanted to do something creative, something she'd really enjoy and remember...a paint party. Yes! It was a perfect idea. She loves to paint, most kids do, and what fun we'd have! Little did I know that the weather would turn crazy cold and we'd have to move our outdoor paint extravaganza to indoors.
We really did have a lot of fun...messy fun...but fun. Some friends came over and we painted with marbles, string, our hands, and then they talked me into letting them paint with their feet. I didn't realize just how slippery paint is to walk on...until Haleigh and Ellie fell and made butt prints on our masterpiece. The girls had a blast, then we ate a cake I made like a painter's pallet and opened gifts. The massive cleanup was worth all of the fun, giggles and memories made that day.

Easter Sunday
This Easter was wonderful, but tiring at the same time. I stayed up way too late Saturday to prepare Sunday afternoon's meal, but it wasn't too bad. We had our usual Sunday afternoon guests(some college students from church) and a couple of extra this year. Cassy, Brocklyn and I woke up at sunrise to spend a little quiet time rejoicing over our risen Lord. The sky was a little too overcast to really get a good view of the sun, but it was still really nice. Hope everyone else had a wonderful Easter too!

Birthday Blessings
This past week, we had the blessing of celebrating two birthdays. Joshua celebrated his very first on Sunday. Poor little guy has April fools day to live with for the rest of his life. He marked this very special occasion by having lunch at home with our usual Sunday afternoon friends, then tried his very first piece of cake. As is the tradition in the Peoples' home, Daddy makes the kids their first birthday cake. Nothing fancy, just a little yellow cake and, of course, chocolate icing. He loved the icing, and was wearing a lot of it by the time he was finished. Then, it was off to the bathtub for a good hosing off.
Haleigh celebrated her fifth birthday on Wednesday. The day began with chocolate chip birthday pancakes. Then, after a babysitter arrived for the boys, Haleigh and I went to pick up Shawn at the church for a special lunch. We ate at Wendy's (her choice), then she and I went to a fun store called the Bead Circus and made a necklace. I can't believe that she is really five. People weren't lying when they said time flies.
