My sweet Caleb turned 5 on January 7th. I don't know why, but his birthday sneaks up on me every year. I get just enough past Christmas to breath a sigh of relief, take the decorations down, and BOOM! There it is. Fortunately, Caleb is still pretty easy to satisfy and we had gotten his birthday gift while we were shopping for Christmas. So, on his actual birthday, we celebrated by getting him his favorite breakfast...doughnuts. He also got a huge fire truck with lights, sounds and a fire fighter. We also planned a birthday party for this past Saturday for his friends to come over and celebrate. Caleb said that he wanted a lion birthday party, so I planned some decorations, games and a craft. Then, I went hunting for a cake. Not adventurous enough to tackle the cake on my own, I figured we'd buy one. He chose WALLE cupcakes. Not exactly going along with the lion theme...but it's what he wanted! We had a really busy day with a basketball game, team pictures and getting the party set up. But all went great! The boys had so much fun running around and playing together. Afterwards...we were all exhausted!Caleb's 1st birthday cake this year with just family.

Birthday morning...and the big fire truck.
I can't believe I haven't posted these pics yet! Well, I'll just blame the whole thing on being in the last month of pregnancy!! My mom and dad came up after Christmas and stayed for about a week(spoiling, spoiling, spoiling!) The last day they were here, all the gang, minus Joshua and me, went to Perfect North to snow tube. My mom hesitated at first, but got into the spirit and bundled up with the rest of them. I wasn't there to see, but I think everyone had a great time. The kids talked about how they went on the tubes down the hill so fast, and joined up with everyone else to go super fast. Haleigh even went alone a few times...and also said the snow didn't taste good ( it was all fake, since it hadn't snowed in several days). I hope you all are bundled up wherever you are. Here in our neck of the woods, some arctic weather is causing some seriously cold temps. I believe tomorrow, we'll start the day at minus 9! Thank you Lord, for the heater...and hot chocolate!
