Back to School!

I am such a nerd. I really look forward to "back to school" time. I enjoy the routine, the excitement of new things to learn, the clean slate to try new things or tweak things that didn't work last year. Maybe that's why I chose teaching as a profession in the first place! Well, teaching is much different when trying to juggle a 5th, 3rd and 1st grader, not to mention the preschooler and baby! This week has been our first and what I deem, "the trial run" for what our real days will look like.
I've been really working on making the most of my morning so our school days have really been going well, I think. It pretty much consumes my entire morning, but if we are diligent, we can get the majority of our work done before lunch. After lunch, we finish up with history and science. I am really excited about using My Father's World again as we will be studying the time period of Rome to the Reformation. Learning about the history of how the Bible came to us, and the life of Jesus and early church are really interesting to me! I'll try to update on what we're learning as we go!

Here are some pics of the kids on their first day...and their favorite teacher!!
