Vacation Bible School Part 1

One thing I will say about our church...it ROCKS at VBS! They go all out to make it a special time for the kids. One of the most amazing things they do is the decorating. Months and months of preparation go into transforming our church to match the theme of the week. There are so many volunteers contributing their time and talents. I love the way our church comes together to reach children and their families for Christ. Thursday is water night, so I will post some pictures then also. Enjoy the day!

Notice the screaming kid?

Staying busy

Some random park pictures...

I have been so busy the past couple of weeks, I've been terrible at updating this blog. Several things have taken up my time. Shawn and I celebrated 11 years of marriage on June 7. We went out that night to dinner and a movie, which was really fun to spend time with him. We had made other plans, but the weather was not cooperative. Also, we had a garage sale last week. It was the only time we could do it and a friend of mine came and joined us. We did pretty good for a Thursday and Friday sale, in my opinion, and I made enough money to buy some great stuff for homeschooling the next day at the Used Curriculum Sale. Now we are busy with VBS at our church this week(which has been a BLAST!) and will be heading to Kentucky Friday to meet my mom and dad so they can take the kids for the week. Shawn and I are heading to a Cedarville University for Super Summer Camp with some teens. Phew! I'm tired just writing about it. So, pray for our kids as they get spoiled out of their minds for a week. Hopefully, you will see some VBS pictures on here soon. Hope your summer is going great!!

Slippin' Slide

One of the really great things about our visit to TN was my mom and dad's backyard. They have a pool, kiddie pool and a  lot of yard left over to do other stuff. My nephews and niece came over while we were there, and the slip and slide was brought out. They had a blast! Ron and Keeli were great with the little ones, and I could tell that they really had fun too! I almost took a turn and then saw the WARNING on the side that told me I was too big and tall :(  Ahh well, can't be young forever, I guess.

One of the great ideas...pulling each other on the boogie board. Caleb went the fastest, since he was the smallest.

Beauty is pain

As you can see, Haleigh really hated having her hair in curlers for the wedding. This was the only part of the entire process that she complained about. She loved the idea of having a special hair-do for the wedding...but when it came down to it, not as much fun as it seemed. Well, she hung in there and in the morning, her hair was curly..for about 10 minutes. Unfortunatly, she has her mom's hair, which never holds curl. So, I put the curling iron to it and helped it a little. She looked adorable and felt like a princess. I'm pretty sure she won't ever forget this.

Random wedding pictures

This is my new sister in law, Amanda and I at her lingerie shower in TN. We had a lot of giggles and silly moments that night. We went to dinner before and had a nice time getting to know her sister and best friend better. I am so glad my brother married such a sweetheart!
Haleigh was the flower girl, and there will be more before wedding pictures later that are so cute. She has been talking about this wedding since about February, and finally her dream came true. She did a great job walking with her younger cousin, Koen, and smiled SO many times for pictures.
Amanda and I before the wedding...she looks so pretty :)
Well, maybe now I can update my blog more frequently since I finally figured out Shawn's Mac.

WEDDING...2 days and counting

Hey there, again...no pictures, but an update. We are in TN for my brother's wedding, and it is quickly approaching. Tomorrow is a super busy day for us as we are decorating the church and fellowship area for the wedding. Hopefully all will go smoothly for us...but the stress level for my mom is rising rapidly. I have really enjoyed my visit here with the kids, but also realize how much I miss my hubby. He couldn't come with us since this is a really big weekend for him at the church. So, maybe soon I will post some pictures of our little trip and the wedding. The prognosis on our computer was pretty sad, so we are going to be working around it for a while. Ah well, that's modern technology for ya!

Major Milestone

Joshua  has been addicted to his bappy (pacifier) since he was only a couple of weeks old. I decided that now since he is two, we should really ditch the bappy for fear of an overbite. I thought it would be really hard for him, especially at night, since he can go right to sleep as long as bappy is safely with him. Yesterday was the day we put the bappies away. We put them in a "bappy bag" and put them with the baby stuff. I thought he might pitch a fit right then, but we just kept saying what a big boy he was and he acted fine.  It took him about 30 minutes to fall asleep last night, but he did great! I am so proud of my big boy!
